Robin is based in Cheshire, UK
Goldsmiths graduate, Robin Brunskill was trained in comedy improvisation by Anna Scher in London.
She started to work regional theatre, TV, radio, voice overs and film at the age of 20.
She left London when she was 30 to train to teach Drama and worked in the Higher Education sector as Lecturer and director. She particularly enjoyed designing undergraduate drama courses.
Robin has also taught drama in the community for many years. This forms the basis for "Enjoy Learning" as an online resource for this work.
"Speech Company" is Robin's online space to explore experimental audio adaptations. She also provides radio, film and theatre scripts from this site, which is code-protected.
Robin likes National Trust places, historic stained glass conservation, art classes, libraries, ballet and music. She likes to travel and has backpacked around New Zealand, Australia, America and Europe. Favourite city is Seville.
She hopes the future will include walks in Alderley Edge, North Wales beaches, story telling festivals and the joy of getting older amid the dear perpetual faces of loved ones, amid dogs and cats, amid a greater gratitude for life in all its colours.

Mary BartonMy own adaptation from the novel by Mrs GaskellRobert Powell Theatre |
Adapting and directing “Mary Barton” by Mrs Gaskell 2002/3
Salford University asked me to adapt the novel in a way that meant that seventeen female students and three male students were on stage for an equal amount of time. They also asked me to direct the adaptation, working with their second year Performing Arts students.
The production was performed in the Robert Powell Theatre in 2003 and the team of student actors were rewarded with a twenty minute standing ovation.
Many thanks to the students and Tim Moss our project manager, and to Mark Bishop and Lloyd Peters who gave us all the chance to be experimental, musical, dramatic and most of all, to discover 1840’s Manchester again..
It was a great experience and the students at Salford were the most creative and professional group. Thank you to our violinist Barbara Rose-Innes.
Above all, thanks to Mrs Gaskell and her “tale of Manchester life.” She captured the magic of Manchester. Its courage, power, intelligence and romance.

Robin mainly records her voice work at Stanley Hall, but can easily travel to studios around the UK. Her journey to London is a mere two hours and she is happy to arrive in London the night before, to be ready for a 9.00am start in the studio. She also records USA work via a link up at a post production house in Stockport using a company based in Palm Springs California.
